I grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest (Tacoma WA), where I studied communication and received my B.A. from the University of Washington.
I currently live in sunny southern CA, in the hidden city of Escondido, where I’m studying for my M.Div. at Westminster Seminary California.
I am a member, and licensed intern, at Christ United Reformed Church (Santee).
Hey, Brenden! I finally got around to taking a look at your Blog here…it is very interesting. Keep it up!
I was blessed & encouraged as I visited your blog. I love the part about how focusing on the cross & Christ’s forgiveness is so crucial to sanctification. Your passion for Christ is radiating through the site. Keep shining!
Thanks, Rheanna, for your kind words.
I’m learning to blog. Your’s is an exciting one to read. Law and grace distinctions are at times difficult to do. But that is your calling as a handler of the divine oracles is it not? Less counseling more word!
your blog is become a rich selection of delights. the practicality of the things you post is more apparent as one meditates upon them.
Thanks Tom. Your words are an encouragement. – B

Hi! Your blog, is awesome! I really enjoyed reading what you had to say! Its so real, and so interesting to study more about this topic. I was wondering if you knew any sources that are on the topic of spiritual warfare and the story called Beowulf. I am doing a research analysis paper about Beowulf and the symbolism/spiritual warfare. I was wondering if you knew of any good scholars of sources I could look up. Thanks so much

Hello Lauren, thanks for your comment.
I would definitely recommend getting a hold of J.R.R. Tolkien’s essay, “The Monster and the Critics.” http://www.english.uga.edu/~jdmevans/Personal/JRRT1936.pdf

The propositions set forth by fv and others such as n.t wright are seeking to alter, for better or worse, the evangelical landscape as a corrective for some of the malaise we are seeing in the local churches and their witness to the culture. In the case of the fv crowd this is driven from a pastoral perspective. You have had two internships in two different but similar communities. You are associated with an evangelical organization that speaks to these issues. You have much to share given your practical experience in the churches you have served. Richard Baxter wrote his Reformed Pastor in this same vain. So get hot and comment on how what you have learned has translated into what you have observed in your experiences.
